Escape play punishing metal/hardcore/industrial music

which sounds bleak, brutal and ugly with a simmering

anger that threatens to boil over into your speakers.

I honestly am not into this sort of music and therefore do not

judge myself competent enough to review this album.

Read their bio, listen to the music and make your own mind

up ....... from what I have read, Cuba is not the easiest place

in the world to make this sort of music, so show your support

and at least give it a listen!

[ P.U.T ] , 2 brothers, living in Paris / Brussels, who making since 1998, a mix of  machines vs guitares, noise, sludge-metal, industrial and punk to create a music borrows madness, emotion, heaviness and anger.
Personal and without concessions, their 5 albums, 8 maxis, 2 live, 7" and various sound experiments, does not disavow their influences (of Godflesh, Killing joke, Sonic Youth while passing by Scorn or Unsane) the band intrigues at the most point.
It's on stage which the band reveal is power, making same noise than a 4-5 piece musicians…. intense, raw, dirty, disturbing...

A heavy sounding band with Justin Broadrick

in before he went on to form Godflesh and

Jesu, Head of David were signed to Blast First

and are described as Industrial Rock/Stoner.

I can also spot bits of Killing Joke/Sabbath/

Sonic Youth.

Using a drum machine as a noise weapon, murderous

bass and uber heavy guitar, riff after riff pound

away in a thrilling mixture of power and scuzz.

This was produced by Steve Albini and (unlikely

as it seems!) gave them quite a 'rock' sound

complete with guitar solos and tunes!!

Celan are an experimental project featuring Chris

Spencer from Unsane - Nico Wenner from Oxbow

- Ari Meyers from Einsturzende Nebauten +

members of flu.ID.

The overall feel is industrial / hardcore, played

as a wall of noise with pretty aggressive vocals

but with some mellow passages creeping in and out

of the songs.

Keyboards and samples weave throughout the

abrasive din but are used to propel the listener

along to a climatic end rather than just another

"quiet bit going into a loud bit".
