Dead & Divine play post-hardcore/metal and deliver
an album that has a huge, meaty sound to it.
Everything sounds BIG.
Drums and guitars are welded together to produce
heavy riffs with brutal effect and the vocals which
switch between clean/screamed never let up in intensity.
The songs do not rely on breakdowns and have a strong
melodic but aggressive feel to them.
"The Machines We Are" from 2009 kinda fell into the
dreaded, generic "metalcore" tag that seems to make
bands sound the same but this album takes them beyond
that - this is a thrilling, sonic assault that took me by surprise.
